Scrambled Eggs.....ewwwww

I am on a low-carb diet, so I usually start my day with some kind of eggs. Most often it is a fried egg, and Paisley joins me. Today I thought I would change things up a bit and make scrambled eggs. When I gave Paisley her eggs, she took a bite and spit it out. You could almost hear her say "yuck! What was that?". I could not believe it. It has been awhile since I have made scrambled eggs but really? What kind of dog rejects eggs? I gave some to Bella (our dachshund) in an attempt to prompt her in to eating them. Nothing doing. So she had dog food.

Scrambled eggs. Really?!?!

Later I made pancakes for the boys and I gave her a bite. Would you believe she spit it out? I thought is she sick? I gave it to her again, and she spit it out again. Third times a charm. On the third try she snarfed it right down and wanted more. I truly believe the little stinker was afraid I was still trying to get her to eat the dreaded scrambled eggs. I think she was having what my husband calls one of her "princess moments".

Yesterday I decided we would try to head out early to beat the heat and go to a really nice shopping center that is not too far from where we live. We got out a little later than planned. That is just life with kids sometimes. I thought I would snap a few pictures of Paisley and the kids. This is one of those places that is made to look kind of like an old fashioned town square. They have kind of a park in the middle with a creek that runs through it. It's very pretty.

Even though we got there before 10 AM, you could just feel the heat creeping up. I tried to get Paisley to cooperate "she was like are you kidding? It is hot". She laid in the grass and chewed a stick. Then she just panted and looked at me like lets go.

Lucky for me they also have one of my favorite stores there Charming Charlies. A good excuse to get out of the heat. I could just get lost in there. I am so lucky that Paisley is such a good shopper. People comment all of the time on how she just kind of sits on my hip all relaxed. I also love that we both share a love for the same color, Pink. It's such a coincidence. She helped me pick out a really cute pair of flip flops with a hot pink bow ;). Then we ran to the JoAnn's fabrics and last but not least another one of my favorites Tuesday Morning . I love their pet department. I have found some really good deals there. I bought Paisley's very first doggy bag there. The same exact bag was $40.00 at the pet store, and I got it for $14.99 at Tuesday Morning. It was very well made and even airline approved. That is where I came across her lady bug costume.

A Good Day....Shopping

Another hot day in Texas today. We waited until evening when it had cooled off some and ran to Costco. I love Costco because it usually means we get rotisserie chicken and sometimes pizza. Tonight it meant both. I get to have a little. I rode in my "Paisley to go bag" and was a very good girl.

Mmmmmmm...chicken

My human brother has been going to VBS this week, so dropping him off and picking him up has meant that I get a lot of head pats and petting from kids. I love the attention, and I met a very nice poodle there last night.

After we picked up my brother we ran to PETSMART and got food for the labs and a new to go bag for me.

My new bag, and the food is definitely not for me

I love PETSMART. I love the toys and sometimes mom gets me a new outfit or collar. I like to meet other dogs and their owners. I met a very nice cat tonight.

Hello Kitty

Hey, what's the deal? I'm not a cat.

All in all it was a pretty good day. I am sleepy or as mom says to me sweepy.

God bless mommy, daddy, brothers, and my doggy brother and sisters.

I am going to go crawl in bed with mom and maybe catch a little late night TV.

Good Night and sweet dreams.

Whoohoo, it's Monday night and you know what that means, don't you? The Bachelorette is getting ready to come on. I am gonna go snuggle on the couch and watch it with mom. We just love Dez. She seems like such a sweet girl.

Where I go, She goes

We have had a pretty calm weekend, cleaning house and running errands. One of the many nice things about Paisley is having her to run all of those pesky little errand type of things with me. It's nice to have the company, and it is amazing how people talk to you so much more when you have a little dog with you.

We have met some of the nicest people (Animal people are good people). The thing that amazes me is that people ask to take a picture of her. We were buying a suit for my husband and the people at the store had to have pictures with and of her. This weekend we drove through McDonald's the girl wanted to take her picture.

We were at the mall the other day and as I walked by a girl she said " I have seen her at Walmart." Too funny! When we go to Walmart or the mall, Paisley rides in her purse with her head sticking out. It's funny because some people notice her and some are completely oblivious to her. I was getting my kids a cookie the other day and the guy behind the counter said "oh snap that's a dog". As far as Paisley is concerned she is just happy to be with me.

We live in Texas and the weather had been so nice last week, but things are heating up again. So Paisley enjoyed staying inside and playing with her toys and her big sister Miley.

She also enjoyed a little In N Out Burger.

She played with her favorite ball.

We went to the park for a little bit and took a nap when we came home.

Happy Fourth America - Paisley's First

This is Paisley's first Fourth of July

We started the evening ready to watch the fireworks.

Paisley did not see what the excitement was all about. As far as she was concerned, she had the best seat in the house and fell asleep in her dad's arms.

As you can see, we were far enough away that the sound did not bother Paisley. She was still asleep in her dad's arms.

The start of the grand finale, and Paisley was still sleeping. She really has it rough.

Paisley's Great Escape

So yesterday, Paisley gave me quite a scare. I had just come home from running errands. I let our labs and dachshund out to the backyard and back in the house and casually remarked to my son on how proud I was that Paisley was already trained to never go outside without me.

I remembered that I had left something in my car, so I grabbed my keys and headed out the front door. From my peripheral vision I saw a reddish blur. It was Paisley. She ran right past me.

I completely freaked out. I left the door open and ran to find her, and I was screaming her name at the top of my lungs like a crazy person. Out come our labs and dachshund to see what the fuss was about. My husband is was in our room changing clothes so he could not help. He called out to get the other dogs. I turn around and rushed them inside.

Did I mention in my panic that I had also hit the panic on my car alarm? It's blaring, and I am frantically calling out. I turn around and there is Paisley in my neighbors yard looking at me like I have lost my mind. She would not come to me. She just looked at me terrified. I calmed down and asked her if she "wanted to go bye bye". She backed up on to my neighbors porch, and I was able to grab her.

Looking back I really think she was just afraid I would leave with out her. I take her almost everywhere I go. If I had just kept my wits about me and calmly asked her if she wanted to go bye bye, she most likely would have come to me.

I always pick her up if I head out the door even if it is just to check the mail. Lesson learned staying calm is always best. All is well that ends well.

The thought crossed my mind that maybe I had cuddled Paisley too much, and she was trying to escape.

Nah, she loves me.
